Warranty

At Nelson Builders, we realize that your home is one of the largest and most important purchases you will ever make. We want you to rest assured knowing there is nothing to worry about and be able to enjoy your home for years to come.

Every home built by Nelson Builders is backed by a one year top-to-bottom comprehensive builder warranty. This warranty is in addition to longer mechanical and other manufacturer warranties (if applicable). When you purchase a new home from us, you will receive a copy of the Illinois Quality Assurance Builder Standards book that outlines many typical issues that may arise with a new home. That book lists numerous issues that you may experience, what is considered normal, and what would require a warranty repair.

During that one-year period, if you experience an emergency warranty issue with your home please contact us to schedule an appointment. If it is a minor issue (such as nail pops, door out of alignment, etc.), we will contact you near the end of your warranty period to schedule a time to take care of everything at once.

Follow-Up

30 days after move-in, we will get in touch to make sure there are no outstanding issues that have arisen since you moved in and get them taken care of.

Around 11 months from your closing date, we will reach out to see if there is anything we need to address before the warranty expires. We want to make sure you are happy in your home and can rest assured that you will continue to enjoy your home for years to come!
